Skinnydip Phone Covers, Headphones and Speakers as seen on Dragons’ Den
As seen on the latest series of Dragons’ Den, James and Richard Gold along with partner Lewis Blitz won backing from Peter Jones with a £120,000 investment in their company Skinnydip. Skinnydip produce a range of funky phone, iPad and ebook covers, headphones and speakers aimed at the fashion market and are already sold in a number of large retailers. Jones stated, “They’re looking at the tech accessory market in a fresh way.”
The young entrepreneurs produced a confident and well rehearsed pitch, with Theo stating that a response from James was the best answer to a question he’d heard in the Den.
“We hope that you jump in and skinny dip with us!” Despite proposing this rather scarey scenario to Duncan, Peter, Theo, Hilary and Deborah, Skinnydip were successful on the first show of the BBC’s tenth series, with three Dragons vying to be involved. They chose Peter Jones as an investor over Theo Paphitis and Deborah Meaden. In return for his funding and advice, Jones will get a 30 per cent stake in Skinnydip, dropping to a quarter if they hit their targets.
